Lief (male) - Southern Garter Snake
Nutrition
Lief eats mainly 2 large earth worms once a week. He occasionally would eat minnows caught in our creek and tree frogs. Thats it :) - Snakes are easy.
Well-Being
Habitat
In the wild, the habitats are mainly small gardens. They like to hide near fences and they love water.
In captivity I keep Lief in a 10 gallon tank with dirt or aspen bedding. Heat around 80-90F but is not needed all the time.
I feed him once a week.
Make sure he has clean water in a bowl. Spray his tank with a misting bottle every morning and every night.
I try to hold him daily. He does not need a heat lamp at night.
